More Manifesting with the Universe

And Some Help and Encouragement from the Archangels

I closed on my new home today.  Man, what a journey!  It’s been over six months since I made the decision to sell my older, bigger house and downsize to a new, smaller home.  It started with all the sorting through over twenty years of accumulated stuff, followed by a huge estate sale, then, the sale of my house.  I’ve written past articles about all the synchronicity and experimenting with manifestation that led me to this point, and how the Archangels kept telling me that everything would work out just fine, but there were times I had my doubts.

My realtor advised me to hire an inspector, even though the house I’m buying is brand new, and I’m so glad I did.  We’d been trying to get a finish date and a walkthrough for weeks with no cooperation from the builder’s people.  Finally, last Friday, they called my realtor and said we could schedule the inspector for the next day, and the walkthrough would be Tuesday.  Thank God for my stellar realtor!  Not only is she exceptionally good at her job, but she is a very heart-centered person who genuinely wants to help people, including me.  Due to her connections, she was able to get an inspector for the following day at the last minute, and I met him there while he checked everything out.

Guys, if you buy a new home, GET IT INSPECTED, even though it’s new.  There were several things he found that needed to be addressed; nothing major, but that could’ve turned into major problems had they not been fixed.  However, what was extremely upsetting to me was the very unhappy surprises I found waiting for me.  It’s the first time I’d seen the finished house, and it was not what I expected in places.

When the frame went up, I reported that there was no window in the garage, like the one I told the builder’s realtor I loved so much.  They said it was an upgrade.  Now, call me crazy, but it seems to me that the time to tell me it was an upgrade was when I told the realtor how much I liked it.  She did not.  Again, call me crazy, but homebuyers expect the home they purchase to look pretty close to the model home, am I right?  Since it was too late to put in the garage window, they offered me a $300 credit for landscaping.

Landscaping was a whole issue in and of itself!  I asked the realtor to arrange a meeting with the landscaper, so I could discuss options, and she said she would.  I got a text around nine at night telling me the landscaping was going in the next morning, and if I wanted to have any input, I’d have to meet the landscaper onsite.  It was raining but I was there.  He didn’t know anything about the $300 credit, but he said he would put in extra plants in addition to the two in the plan and the two boulders that were included.  When I arrived last Saturday to meet the inspector, there were six small plants, and they were all dead!  No boulders!

My bedroom closet was completely different from the model home, and the differences were not to my advantage.  Fewer shelves and no place to hang longer clothing, like dresses, as there were double rods in the two hanging sections.  Next, there were supposed to have been two drawers on either side of the stove, and there were only one on each side, and there was no hardware on any of the cabinets or drawers in the kitchen or the bathrooms.  I was not happy.

I called the realtor, and she wasn’t interested in hearing about it and told me to bring my list with me to the walkthrough in three days.  Keep in mind, the walkthrough was only two days before the closing was scheduled.  I was upset the rest of the day, and Sunday, when I did my weekly Tarot reading for the week and channeled the Angels, Ariel in particular told me not to worry, that everything would turn out okay, that they were on the job.  Michael said to continue working with the Universe on manifesting a smooth transition.

Monday morning, the day before the walkthrough, I received guidance to inform the mortgage company that I didn’t know if we’d be able to close that week, after all, that there were several problems with the house, that I didn’t know if I was going to buy it as it was, and that the builder’s people didn’t seem particularly inclined to help me.  I’d reread the contract, and there was no mention of differences from the model home to be expected, and I mentioned that there were two lawyers in my family.

About an hour or so after I sent the email, I started getting phone calls, texts, and emails from the realtor, the foreman, and the “closing coordinator.”  Turns out the mortgage guy is related to one of the owners of the company, and I’m guessing he let the owner know that he had a very unhappy potential buyer on his hands who had already been cleared for financing!

By the time I showed up for the walkthrough the following day, the closet had been reconfigured and ended up better than the one in the model home, the contractor for the cabinetry was scheduled to put in the original four drawers in place of the two he’d changed the design to, the landscaper had agreed to replace all the plants; he’d neglected to hook up the irrigation system, and that’s why they’d died.  All the things on the inspector’s report had been addressed or were scheduled to be addressed, and the only thing I was still unhappy about was the lack of hardware on all the drawers and cabinetry, which the realtor said was another upgrade.  Really?!  Long story short, we reached an agreement to use the $300 credit from the garage window for the hardware, and it’s going in tomorrow.

In addition, it turns out the builder included a few extras, including cabinetry in the laundry room and a hanging bar, neither of which were in the model home.  Also, I was only supposed to have ceiling fans in my bedroom and the family room, and they put them in both spare bedrooms, also, and they were only supposed to put blinds on the front window, but all windows have blinds.  The realtor said I was just lucky, but I prefer to think I was blessed.

I never had to get ugly, thank goodness.  I always try to be nice and treat people respectfully, the way I like to be treated.  Unfortunately, some people confuse “nice” and “kind” with “weak”, and that is not me.  I remained openminded to compromises, and we were able to reach amicable agreements on everything, but I’m not sure that would have been the case if I hadn’t given the mortgage guy a head’s up about being iffy about closing.  You can believe whatever you want, but I believe there was divine guidance given to me regarding how best to handle the situation, and Ariel was right, everything did indeed work out.

So, today, I closed on my new home.  I took a carload of stuff over and will do the same over the next few days.  I’m hoping I can set up the kitchen and baths before moving day, which is scheduled for next Wednesday.  I’m going to continue manifesting with the Universe for a smooth transition.

I’m also passing on the kindness and consideration I’ve enjoyed.  The buyers of my old home had agreed to let me stay, rent free, until May 18th, because I helped with their closing costs.  As it turned out, my new house was ready earlier than expected, so I scheduled the move day for May 1st, which gives me time to get the internet put in, an alarm system, pest control, etc. done before I move in.  Unfortunately, their landlord said if they weren’t out be the end of day, May first, they would have to pay another month’s full rent, so they asked if there was any way I could move out a day earlier.  After checking my schedule of events, the one day I hadn’t scheduled something to be done in the new house was the day they needed me to move, and I was able to reschedule my move a day earlier.  Also, I’m hiring a cleaning crew to do a deep clean, so they won’t have to worry about it.  After all, the builder cleaned my new house before I closed, so that’s the least I can do.  Plus, my mother would turn over in her grave if I left the house dirty, which I would never do!

In conclusion, everybody won.  The buyers of my old home will move into a clean home early enough to forego another month’s rent, and I get to move into my new home that I love again, after they fixed the problems it had.  It scares me to think of what would’ve happened if I hadn’t seen the problems until the walkthrough, but since I saw them earlier when I met the inspector, there was time to fix everything to my satisfaction and still close on time.  Life is good.

The Angels tell me the new house is symbolic of the new life I’m going to build.  When they first told me that, I felt kind of old to be building a new life, but after going through all of this, although I’m definitely exhausted, I’ve also kind of gotten my second wind, especially when I think of all the things that could’ve gone differently but ended up working out just fine.  I’m not sure what is coming up for me, but whatever it is, I know I won’t be alone.  I’ve got all kinds of divine help on my side.  My overall goal remains the same.  Whatever I do, and however I do it, I want it to help people.  I know my Angels and Guides are going to help me do that, even though I don’t exactly know what it will look like, although I know my Guides will not steer me wrong.  I’m pretty sure it’ll be interesting, though!

This week’s intention for meditation is courage.  I hope you’ll consider joining me and the Archangels on Friday, from wherever you may be, at whatever time is convenient, and send your loving energy to others with a focus on courage.  With everything going on, we can sure use it!  So, call on the Archangels, focus on courage for yourself and for others, and the Angels will gather our energy and send it where it’s needed most.  All you have to do is open your heart and mind.  It does so much more good than we realize.

Have a wonderful weekend, and don’t forget to check in on your levels of the Big 4, joy, hope, love, and peace.  If you’re running a little low, do something that feeds any of these areas, and you’ll not only feel better, but you’ll be helping with The Shift and with making the world a better place.  Release any anger and fear you have, and ask the Angels for help replacing it with the Big 4.  They’ll hear you, and they’ll help you, if you open your heart to them.  Give it a try!  What do you have to lose?

Blessings, all.
