God Does Not Punish Us

The Archangels' Most Important Message

I heard from someone I’ve known for years the other day who might be categorized by some as a Christian nationalist, certainly MAGA, who was suffering greatly as she struggled with her very sick husband who is chronically ill.  This couple tends to be very judgmental and closed minded to alternative ideas in politics, religion, etc., and to be honest, I’ve struggled with having a relationship with them, although they are part of my extended family.  The way I mostly manage it is to make sure there are no discussions about the things we disagree on most strongly.  If something is brought up that I know will lead to arguments, I just tell them I’m not going to discuss it with them.  What would be the point, when I know I’m not going to change their view, and they’re not going to change mine?  For the most part that has worked fairly well.  They are not bad people.  On the contrary, they are hard working and have done some good things, but we have very different views.

There have been times when it has been difficult for me to reach for compassion when dealing with them.  They have said several things that are offensive to me without regard for my feelings or sensibilities, but this time, I had no problem extending compassion as they are struggling through very difficult times that in some ways will not likely improve.  This person was clearly at the end of her rope, trying to care for her ailing husband, who was struggling both mentally and physically with the situation, and just trying to keep her head above water.  I remember feeling like that when I was caring for my husband when he was terminally ill.  It’s terrible and exhausting, so it was easy for me to sympathize with the situation. 

What shocked me the most was when she asked me about what the Archangels had to say about situations such as theirs.  They have not been very gracious or accepting of my channeling, and they do not appreciate the differences in Angel messages and biblical/religious doctrine and beliefs, so I was very surprised by the question.  It was testimony to the desperation they felt.  The lady shared with me that she knew God had said there would be hard times and to rely on faith, and she said her church’s congregation had been very supportive, but she didn’t understand why it was so hard.

My task became finding a way to offer comfort without treading on sensitive, religious toes.  It’s never my intention to offend anyone, but I have never and will never change the message for the sake of someone’s comfort zone.  I’m a voice for the Guides I channel, and I never change the meanings of their messages.  This has opened me up to ridicule and hateful responses on many occasions, but that’s just part of the job.  There are always going to be people who doubt or take exception to the messages, which is why I always suggest taking what resonates and leaving the rest, but I can’t control how the messages are received.  I can only share them accurately and let the reader take it from there.

I asked the Archangels once what their most important message was for people, and their answer was that they wanted us to know that we are loved unconditionally, so I started there and told her that she was not being punished by God, which is a common idea that some religious people have when times are difficult.  I remember when AIDS came to the forefront and there were lots of Christians who proclaimed that it was God punishing gay people for their “sins.”  This has long been a common theme and excuse people have used for persecuting others they’ve decided go against God.

I told her the Angels say the soul plans the human lifetime, and it is based on important life lessons we learn that bring us closer to God.  I was hoping this would appeal to the religious idea that we need to put God at the center of our lives and make that the priority.  I shared that, although this is the basis of the life plan our soul designs and that we’re supposed to learn things from the hardships we endure, it’s often not particularly comforting when you’re going through the grind, even knowing that there is a higher purpose being targeted.

I shared some of my own struggles with her while I was caring for my husband, some of which were not self-flattering, and I told her she could call me anytime to unload if she wanted to talk to someone who wouldn’t judge and who was a good listener.  I’m pretty sure I missed the mark, as her very short response was to thank me for the kind words.  Again, all I can do is offer the message with pure intent, not change it to suit the listener.  I truly hope she found some comfort or will in the future.

Undoubtedly, some of her supportive congregational friends have told her to have faith, to believe in God, to trust that things will get better.  Faith can be a beautiful thing, but to suggest that faith can cure and improve all things is misleading at best and cruel at worst.  To tell someone to just have faith suggests that their current situation is a punishment and the remedy is to start doing a better job and living a better life according to whatever religious guidelines they follow.  Sometimes, things are not meant to get better, though.  Sometimes, there are hardships we suffer that serve a higher purpose that eventually lead to better things, including a closer relationship with God, even though we can’t see it at the time and perhaps will never understand the purpose during this lifetime.  Still, that doesn’t mean we are being punished for something we either did or failed to do, or that our faith is lacking, and if we’d just do better in exercising that faith, things would improve.  It doesn’t work that way.

I still don’t understand why I’ve lost so many people I’ve loved to various diseases, most of which ravaged their physical and/or mental bodies and caused great suffering before death.  I do, however trust that there was a reason, lessons to be taught and learned, and I have never thought God was punishing anyone.  I remember reading the Book of Job in Sunday School as a kid and not understanding why God would allow the devil to punish someone who loved Him so much and followed all the rules.  After I started channeling, I did a series of articles on passages and stories from the Bible, and the Archangels shared that the Book of Job was written by men as a means of instilling the importance of maintaining faith in God, no matter what.  It was not inspired by God, but by men, some of whom had good intentions, I’m sure, but still, served their own agenda.

I asked the Archangels to expand on their most important message, that we are loved unconditionally, and that hard times are not punishments given by God, and their answer follows.

Question:  Can you please comment further on the unconditional love we have from God and that hardships we suffer are not a product of God’s wrath?

Answer:

This is such a simple and absolute truth, yet so many people doubt it and find it hard to believe.  Why would such a powerful being, the Creator of all things, create some beings to love and reward and others to hate and punish?  The idea that there are rewards and punishments handed out by the Creator has been used as a means of controlling and manipulating people since the beginning of time, or more specifically, since the establishment of religion on Earth.  The idea that you must do certain things and avoid doing certain other things or face extreme punishment is not how the Universe or the Creator works.  The Creator is not human, with human emotions, needs, traits, or desires.  The Creator is not ruled or swayed by such things as wrath, jealousy, anger, fear, ego, or the desire for power and control over others.  These are human weaknesses that the Creator does not share.  If the Creator would have wanted to control people, you would not have been made with free will.

The problems and hardships people endure are not punishments from whatever god they know, and there are not favorites among you with regard to people, places, religions, or cultures.  You are all favored and loved.  You are all important and worthy.  The problems you face are created by yourselves and/or other people and societies, not by the Creator.  It is true the soul plans the human lifetime around lessons that lead to spiritual growth and a closer communion with the Creator, and some of the events planned are challenging and unpleasant, to say the least, but the “bad” things that happened are not divinely created, they exist due to choices humanity has made, and they are not intended as punishments, but as opportunities for learning and spiritual growth.  Hardships have always existed on Earth, and souls often design lives that steer you toward these hardships for learning purposes, but they are not created or intended as punishments.

It is hard to grasp, we know, but when a lifetime ends, and the soul returns to its true home, it is not only a time for rejoicing, but as the soul regains its universal knowledge, it is always grateful for all experiences in the previous lifetime, even the ones that caused pain and suffering at the time.  There is spiritual growth during every lifetime, even and often especially for those who suffered, and the soul is always grateful for all experiences. 

We say again that you are loved unconditionally, regardless of actions and choices you have made.  The idea that you must earn the love of the Creator is nonsense.  You do not have to apply for it, qualify for it, or follow any rules or guidelines to attain it.  You already have it, and you will never lose it.  There is nothing you can ever do or neglect to do that will affect this unconditional love.  Further, you are not separate from the Creator.  Your soul resides partly in your body, or you would not be alive, and the soul contains a spark of Creator energy, which is a constant connection to the Creator.  The Creator is always aware of you, always with you, and He/She/It/They are part of you, as you are part of them.

The rewards and punishments idea for human behavior is a human construct.  There will be those who say that acknowledging this error in judgment and belief is an excuse for free reign to do as you choose to do without worry, but we will say that most people have an inherent understanding of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behavior.  Most people never take a human life not because there are laws, both civil and religious, in place that forbid it, but because they know it is wrong to do so.  When people lie, they know it is dishonest.  When people steal, they know it is not acceptable behavior, or they would not carry it out secretly.  That is not to say that there are not people who choose to do these things, but none of them think it is good behavior, which is why they do not usually advertise what they are doing.  However, whether they cross these moral lines or not, they are still loved unconditionally.

The good news is, punishments are not given for choices made.  For some, the bad news is, neither are rewards given.  This is all part of being loved unconditionally.  The only rewards are internal, not external, namely the spiritual growth and closer communion with the Creator because of it.  Punishments are not meted out for making corrupt decisions and carrying out hurtful actions, because lessons were still learned and taught through them, again, bringing those involved into a closer communion with the Creator.  Whatever punishments experienced are carried out on Earth, not in the afterlife.

Many believe in a reward of eternal life for following religious rules and guidelines and eternal damnation and horrendous, eternal punishment for not following those rules and guidelines.  We tell you that you all already possess eternal life through your souls.  That is part of your creation, just as unconditional love is part of it.  The soul never dies even after the human who housed it does.  The human life ends, but the soul endures always, and that is in no way dependent on how a human life is led.  There are those who will reject this truth and who embrace the idea of rewarding good behavior and punishing bad behavior, but that is not how things work, which is fortunate for all people, as no one leads a perfect life.  Mistakes are made by everyone, and they serve as learning tools for them and for those affected by their choices and actions.  The point of living a human life is to experience a physical life and to learn and grow spiritually, and making mistakes serves as lessons that lead to these goals.

Know that when you are experiencing difficult times, it is not a punishment sent to you by the Creator out of anger.  Hardships are usually a result of the actions carried out by people, either by those who are suffering or by those who caused that suffering.  Although there is such a thing as divine intervention, the Creator does not fix most of the problems created by people, because to do so would hinder learning and spiritual growth. When divine intervention does take place, it is not due to favoritism, and when problems ensue, it is not due to rejection or persecution of the people involved.  People create most of their own problems, so they must create the solutions, as well, or forever continue to repeat mistakes made.  Throughout it all, you are loved unconditionally, whether or not you are part of the problems being created.

People become better at not creating or worsening problems not because they are favored, but because they have learned and grown spiritually.  This is what many of you are experiencing now, as you feel the universal bond that joins all things with the Creator.  As you recognize the Creator in everything, you will become more protective and accepting and moved to be better people.  You will feel more guided to improve not only your conditions, but the conditions of others.  This will lead to unity and the need to make a better world for everyone who lives in it, not just yourselves.  You will feel more connected to the Creator and become more aware of divine guidance, which will have a positive effect on all things.  Solutions will be sought and found.  Life on Earth will become better.  Consciousness will continue to rise, and this will be seen in the changes you will make together.

Throughout it all, you have been and will be loved unconditionally.  You do not have to do anything for this to be true, but you will likely want to do more to spread the universal love you are beginning to feel as your consciousness awakens and grows.  Open your heart to this feeling of love that is within you.  Reach out in love to the Creator and to each other.  Feel the love that lives in you and share it with others.  We are all connected.  We are all loved unconditionally.  We are all divine parts of the same whole.

Final Thoughts

There are going to be people who take exception to this message, and that’s okay.  Everyone is entitled to believe what they want, but to me, it makes sense.  Why would God love some and despise others?  Why would He/She/It/They reward some and punish others?  If He/She/It/They created everyone and everything, wouldn’t there be love and pride in it all?

The idea that God favors some over others is based on human needs and desires.  Everyone wants to be a favorite, right?  Somewhere along the line, systems were set up to cater to those egotistical needs.  We’re human.  We want to be loved.  We’re also competitive in a lot of ways, and the idea that there is good and bad, right and wrong, best and worst is indicative of us, not God.  We apply human traits and emotions to God all the time, but I think that’s silly.  God, the Creator, however you relate to Him/Her/It/Them is not human.  They created humans and do not have our limitations faults, emotions, and traits.

“Holy” wars have always existed, and sides have competed for and proclaimed God’s favor, but how could destruction of Creation be appreciated and acceptable?  In simple terms, if you created something, would you be happy if someone else came by and destroyed it?  Who can believe that destroying and killing people is pleasing to the One who created them? All these efforts at conversion and persecution of those who do not convert to a certain belief system are proof of human defects and pursuits, not godly quests or divine guidance.  People have different ideas and beliefs, and that’s okay. Whether someone believes in a god or not, whatever god they relate to, how close a connection in consciousness they have with God is reflected by their choices and actions.  When they cause harm to others, whether in the name of a god or not, they are serving themselves, not a higher being.  All major religions have a seed of love and kindness towards others, yet it is often forgotten or overlooked in favor of things that serve its people, rather that its god or gods.  That’s a human problem, not something created by the divine.

A lot of people hold onto the idea that we will face judgment and punishment one day by God, and there will be no escape for anyone.  I’ve had comments from people who are giddy at the prospect of watching people burn in hell.  As the Angels pointed out, it’s lucky for everyone that this is not the case, because we all make mistakes, and we all make bad choices at times.  We’re fortunate that we are loved unconditionally, no matter what.

The Angels also mentioned that as we awaken to higher consciousness, we will feel the divine bond that joins us all, and this fits in well with the intention for Friday night meditation with the Archangels, which for September is Transformation.  That’s exactly what we’re going through right now as we ascend into a higher vibration and build a better world based on that divine connection.  If you wish to join us, all you have to do is reach out to the Angels and offer loving energy or prayers with Transformation in mind and offer it to the world and everyone in it.  The Angels will take it from there and distribute the energy where it’s most needed.
