The Value of Being Spiritual

The Archangels Explain Why It's Worth It

ree

I guess topics come in waves on writing platforms.  Lately, there seems to be a lot on the downside of spirituality and how scary, depleting, damaging, and disappointing it is, and these kinds of articles make me sad, especially if they promote avoiding the spiritual path.  Here’s the thing … while the spiritual path can be hard, uncomfortable, challenging, lonely, and even disruptive, like anything else, if you stick with it, it’s usually worth it.  I think part of the problem is the belief that it’s a magic pill or shortcut to happiness and fulfillment, and there’s no such thing.  If you want to be happy and fulfilled, you have to put in the time and effort to make that happen.  Nothing and nobody can do that for you.

I’ve worked with many people who have scheduled sessions with me who think talking to me will give them the answers to all their questions and solve all of their problems, but as stated on my website, that’s not how it works, even for me.  I can and do channel the Archangels often, but they don’t “fix” me or my life or solve all my problems.  They sometimes offer some advice, and they always offer hope, encouragement, and comfort, but it’s still up to me to make decisions and address challenges.  It’s also up to me to practice self-care and maintain my peace of mind.  They don’t take care of that stuff, either.

I asked the Archangels to address this idea that spirituality is overrated and misleading, as well as what divine guidance does and doesn’t offer, and their response follows.

Question:  Will you please respond to the notion that spirituality is not worth pursuing, that it causes more harm than good, as well as what spirituality and divine guidance can do for you if you pursue it?

Answer:

Let us begin by saying that, as human beings, you have the power of free will.  Whether or not you are aware of the divine guidance you receive, it is always up to you whether or not you elect to pursue and use it.  There is no obligation on your part, and you are always in charge of your life.  On the one hand, this is comforting to some who do not care for the idea of not being in control of their own lives, yet for those who want someone to tell them what to do, so they do not have to decide what is best for them, or for those who want someone to make their lives better without having to do the work needed, it is a disappointment.  Some people value independence, while others crave more structure.  Neither of these is right or wrong, but the reality is that if you are not satisfied and fulfilled in your life, it is up to you to change things.  High Guides can help, but we cannot do it for you.

Life on Earth is hard, as you well know.  That is not to say it cannot be good, but it always comes with challenges.  How you address these challenges is up to you.  Your Guides can offer ideas, support, resources, advice, opportunities, encouragement, and many other things, but you will still have to first, decide whether or not to pursue these things, and second, follow through with them and do the work needed in order to realize the outcome.

Our channel is correct in that there is no quick fix or magic pill that will put your life in order and solve all of your problems, and believe it or not, that is a good thing.  Solving problems makes you stronger, smarter, and more capable. It strengthens your self-confidence and builds your character and integrity.  It teaches you and helps you to learn needed lessons your soul targeted before you incarnated, and it helps you to evolve into a state of higher consciousness.  There are many, many paths to choose from in order to grow spiritually, and different paths work for different people, but they all require time and effort on your part to gain results and growth.  Like almost everything in life, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

You will notice that when we offer guidance, it is fairly general.  We rarely offer specific directions, because you are all so different and benefit from different things, which is wonderful.  For example, we will tell you to bring in more of the Big 4, joy, hope, love, and peace, but we do not tell you how to do that, because different things work for different people.  We only tell you how important it is to incorporate these things into your life and base all your decisions on them.  We might suggest you spend a minimum amount of time with yourself in quiet contemplation.  You may call this meditation, taking a walk in nature, prayer, or something else entirely.  You can spend this time in reflection on your day, your actions, your choices, your feelings, your dreams, your goals, connecting with high Guides, or focusing on your breathing.  We do not usually offer step-by-step instructions, because you require a great amount of flexibility which varies from person to person.  Those who benefit the most from our guidance are those who tailor it to suit themselves, then dedicate the time and effort needed to it.

To choose a spiritual path is challenging for many reasons, especially now, during The Shift.  In order to evolve and experience a rise in consciousness, you must first heal from past trauma.  This is not pleasant, but it is necessary, especially if you have buried and hidden from the pain of the past.  In order to heal from trauma of any kind, you must face the harsh emotions that came with it and learn how to release those energies.  Once you learn how to do this, you will feel so much better, but until you do, you will remain a prisoner of the past.  There is an abundance of healing energy available right now, and we can help you access it, but you must first face your painful memories and deal with their energies.  Our channel has had to do extensive work in healing.  We have helped her in various ways, but she had to make the effort, face her memories, and decide as well as learn how to release the pain of past trauma and move on.  Healing is ongoing and hard, and it is part of the spiritual path, but as unpleasant as the process can be, it is not harmful to you in the end.  Quite the contrary, in fact.

Another challenging aspect that many people on a spiritual path are facing right now is the realization that lifelong beliefs no longer make sense to them.  Whether these beliefs are religious in nature or the result of their upbringing, they are questioning the validity of many of them, and they are finding that they no longer resonate.  This is difficult for many, not to mention uncomfortable.  It takes courage to question lifelong beliefs, especially if many close relationships revolve around them.  When you choose a spiritual path, you are often faced with making difficult choices of whether or not to be true to yourself or true to the past ideals that were given to you to accept and follow.  In the meantime, there is often an in-between period when you know you no longer believe what you once did, but you are not sure what to believe instead.  It is an ongoing process to reevaluate core belief systems, and for those who were simply told what to believe, rather than figuring things out for themselves, it is a tall order indeed.  Our channel has had to deal with various criticisms since she began channeling us, from condemnation for straying from or sharing messages that contradict traditional religious beliefs to choosing to exit from traditional religion entirely.

Relationships are another challenging area while growing spiritually.  It is very common right now for people who are on a spiritual path to experience a new distance between themselves and those they were previously close to, because not everyone is evolving at the same rate.  Our channel experiences this still, even after working with us for several years, often because the people who knew here before she channeled us often have difficulty reconciling the person they knew with the person she has become.  Spirituality can lead to loneliness in some ways, as a person evolves without those within their relationships progressing in similar ways.  There is an energetic difference that grows in these relationships, and the comfort level once experienced with some people falls away, because your vibrations differ to a much greater extent.

What many people label as spirituality, when done with purpose and intent, with focused time and effort, leads to many changes, and change is almost always uncomfortable, even if it is change you selected.  It is not spirituality that is the cause of discomfort, it is growth.  When you do not embrace changes such as these, you remain stagnant, which eventually leads to its own discomfort, especially now, during The Shift, because the energy surrounding you now is no longer conducive to many past experiences, thoughts, and actions.  What was once comfortable no longer is, and this can be disconcerting.

This is a problem for many right now.  They are afraid of change, so they cling to old ways, but they find that those old ways are no longer comfortable, which results in having less joy, hope, love, and peace available to them.  They have become energetically incompatible with their new 5D surroundings, and they wish to go back to a time when they felt more comfortable, because they were unaware of many things from which they can no longer hide.  Sadly for them, they will never rediscover that ignorant comfort, because the truth, once revealed, is inescapable.  Once someone sees what is wrong within the world, he or she cannot disclaim it.  They cannot excuse it.  They cannot ignore it.  They may and often do try to resist it, but in their hearts, this will never happen, and they will be in conflict with themselves and their consciousness.  Whether or not someone faces it and accept that change is needed is a personal choice, but no one can hide in their ignorance forever, and whether or not they accept change, it is already here to stay.  Again, as humans, you have free will to accept and embrace it, or to fight against it.  In the end, it will not matter, because the collective consciousness has risen to such an extent that reversal of the truth and the need for change will not be reversed or stopped.  Those who do not embrace change will remain uncomfortable and fearful until they do.

So, there is no easy way out or escape from the present or the future.  There is no quick fix for you or for your life, and there is no magic solution that will transform your life into perfection.  Whether or not you choose a more spiritual path, you will still have to face challenges and do the work needed to find joy, hope, love, and peace and to maintain it in your life.  You can either pursue these things actively, or be a passive participant in your life, taking in whatever comes your way and wishing it would go away, and you could have a better life.  If you are to have a better life, you must pursue and create it.  It will not be handed to you, and that is a good thing.  You are the creator and designer of your own life.  We can help, but we cannot live your life for you.  You have the ability to make of it what you want.

Lastly, you do not need to discover all the secrets of the Universe in order to have a good life.  The key is not found in a particular religion, area of study, or step-by-step process, one size fits all program you can pursue or purchase. You do not have to reach enlightenment, Nirvana, ascension, Heaven, master psychic gifts, or communicate with the spiritual world in order to find joy, hope, love, and peace.  Believe it or not, you already have access to those things, but they will not magically appear.  You must work on finding and maintaining them in your life, and that takes constant, ongoing time and effort on your part, whether you label it spirituality or simply want to make your life more meaningful in various ways.  Again, we can and would love to help you do this, but it falls to you whether or not you reach this point, and the work is never finished.

Final Thoughts

It sounds like, one way or another, we’re all in for a rocky future in some respects.  Personally, I’d rather actively pursue a better path than passively accept whatever comes my way.  The Angels are right, change is often painful and challenging, but I try to remember that better things are ahead if we hang in there and work on improving ourselves and how we deal with things.  Obviously, the chaos is, to some extent, unavoidable.  Just read the headlines in the news, and it’s obvious that things are out of control.

However, we can manage our own lives and responses in our own way, even if we cannot always avoid or control outside issues and circumstances.  We find comfort in different ways, through different means. We all receive divine guidance, even if we don’t recognize it as such.  It’s up to us what we do with it and if and how we pursue it.  Regardless, change is inevitable, and we’re going to have to deal with it.

I’ve often experienced many of the issues described above that often arise as you pursue a more spiritual path.  My relationships have been challenged, my past beliefs have undergone some pretty drastic changes, and I’ve healed from past trauma, which was often painful at the time, but which was worth it in the end.  At least I’m not stagnant and hiding.  I’m not isolating myself and refusing to participate in life, and I’m not reaching backwards for times that felt more comfortable due to ignorance, but which were clearly not satisfying or fulfilling, as I see them with clearer understanding now.  I’m not lying to myself or seeing things through the rose-colored glasses I sometimes favored in the past.  Where’s the fun (and growth) in that?!

Whether we’re talking about religion, spirituality, or anything else, whatever path you choose is as good as what you do with it.  Find a path that works for you, and find ways to work with it.  Experiment with what works and doesn’t work, and find your own way to a better life that offers joy, hope, love, and peace, whatever that looks like for you.  It’s often trial and error, and it always involves time and a lot of hard work when it comes to improving your life, but in the end, it can sure be worth it.  Not only do you get out what you put into it, but it’s worth the time and effort in the end.

This is the last Friday in October – Happy Halloween! – and the intent for Friday night meditation with the Archangels is Compassion.  If you’d like to join us and them, just call on them from wherever you are, at whatever time works for you, and offer compassion to whoever needs it, including those who do not practice or understand what it means.  After all, you cannot understand compassion if you have not experienced it.  My November newsletter that is attached to my website comes out next Friday, so if you haven’t signed up for it yet and would like to, you can do so here.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday, and if you celebrate Halloween, stay safe and enjoy.  I hope your weekend is full of compassion, given and received, and you find your way forward toward more joy, hope, love, and peace.

Blessings, all.
